A via ferrata is a mountain route which is equipped with fixed cables, rungs, ladders, and bridges,
leaving you free to enjoy climbing with the minimum of equipment and technique. The first Via Ferrata was built in France in 1988 in La Freissiniere in the Hautes Alpes.
